Company Overview
Award winning organization serving the Central Valley of California. Founders, Brian Poth and Nick Vargas are 2024 James Irvine Foundation Leadership Award recipients. The Source LGBT+ Center serves LGBTQ+ people and their families in Central California and was founded in 2016. The Source is the largest LGBTQ+ Center between Los Angeles and Sacramento and its programs serve youth, trans people, people living with HIV. Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
**2024: Co-Founders Brian Poth and Nick Vargas received the James Irvine Foundation Leadership Award.**
In 2018 we were voted “Nonprofit of the Year” by the membership of Tulare Kings Counties Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, awarded “Outstanding Queer Nonprofit” at the annual Queer Out Awards in Fresno, and Brian Poth, Executive Director, was named “Community Leader of the Year”.
In 2019, our co-founder and Director of Development, Nick Vargas, was recognized as “Outstanding Community Leader” by Rawhide Baseball
In 2020, Brian Poth was named chair of the UCLA Initiative on LGBTQ Mental Health; and our Director of Programs, Dean Jackson, was appointed to the California State Commission on HIV Services.
In 2022 Nick Vargas was named "Business Person of the Year" by the Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
As of 2021, The Source LGBT+ Center is the largest LGBTQ+ community center between Los Angeles and Sacramento.

**Profit sharing for us refers to the discretionary employeer contribution to retirement accounts at the end of the year. Employees do not need to contribute/defer salary to receive the contribution; it is not a match but a true contribution up to 5% of salary.
