Company History
Strategen was founded as a clean energy strategy consulting firm by Janice Lin to address the existential threat of global climate change.
Our name comes from “Strategies for the Seventh Generation.” Inspired by the Iroquois tradition, it has always been core to our firm’s identity that decisions should be considered for their impact on the seventh generation to come. This future-orientation is evident in our leading-edge work in energy storage, vehicle-grid integration, green hydrogen, decarbonization strategy, clean energy system planning, and more.
Since 2005, we have empowered leading organizations to design innovative, practical solutions that capture the promise of a clean energy future, strengthen resilience and adaptability, and are equitable, collaborative, and impactful. Our team understands that the energy landscape is becoming ever more complex and that every client faces unique challenges. To develop recommendations that transform the future requires an integrated, multidisciplinary approach that considers all forms of clean energy solutions to accelerate the path forward to a decarbonized future.
