Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
Eden United Church of Christ is a progressive Protestant congregation deeply rooted in the Eden Area. Our strong bonds with institutional and community partners in the Hayward and Unincorporated Communities of South Alameda County California provided a basis for us to rapidly scale up our emergency services within the Eden Area during the pandemic, so that we were able to serve 5x as many people as we were prior to the issuance of the PHO in March 2020. Specifically, we provide emergency food, baby products, personal hygiene kits, cleaning supplies, and school supplies. We also offer navigation services to newcomers in our local public schools, tenant-landlord navigation to rent relief and mediation services, linguistically and culturally appropriate family financial education, micro-credit programs, and public health education and services in cooperation with our public, no profit, and interfaith institutional partners.
