ABOUT ALTERNATIVE TECHNOLOGIES
Alternative Technologies has been a leader for more than 35 years in providing technology support of all kinds to progressive nonprofits in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since the days before desktop computers, we have helped thousands of clients fulfill their mission by guiding their use of technology.

Our staff of 35 is made up of field technicians, helpdesk support technicians, engineers, project managers, and our Berkeley-based administrative and management team. For all of us, supporting the Bay Area’s nonprofit community is our shared vision. We have served more than 3,000 organizations over the past 35 years, and currently provide ongoing service to more than 500 groups, including Clean Water Action, East Bay Community Law Center, Jewish Community Center of the East Bay, Mission Housing Development Corporation, Progress Foundation, Rainbow Grocery, and Women's Cancer Resource Center, to name just a few.

In 2022, the employees of Alternative Technologies purchased the company from the retiring founder, becoming one of just a few worker-owned cooperatives in the technology sector nationwide.
