Description

This is an onsite position in San Francisco, CA

With a vision to positively impact the lives of 5 million animals by 2030, the San Francisco SPCA is busy recruiting while addressing the changing landscape in animal welfare, veterinary care and the anticipated on-going shortage of Veterinarians. We are looking for a determined, creative, and seasoned Director of Talent Acquisition to lead the SF SPCA’s vision and strategy to grow our teams and develop a highly qualified and diverse workforce.

The Role: This newly created position, within our People Team and reporting to the Chief People Officer, will lead and build innovative talent acquisition strategies, work cross functionally on talent brand strategies, workforce planning, DE&I initiatives, and the implementation of data analytics to inform workforce planning. This position provides leadership for end-to-end recruiting functions, overhauling new team member orientation and onboarding, optimizes candidate and hiring manager experience, and is a subject matter expert and business partner for talent reviews and succession planning.

About Us: Founded over 154 years ago, the SF SPCA continues to be one of the Bay Area's most enduring and respected institutions. Recognized as a center of excellence, our innovative programs serve as models for humane organizations and veterinary medicine across the country.

At the SF SPCA, we know diversity drives innovation and brings new perspectives. We consider our differences valuable assets that help us continually strive to be better at what we do. As a community supported nonprofit, not affiliated with any national organization, our values: Be Generous, Fearless and Connected guide more than 300 talented and dedicated professionals to deliver on our promises each and every day.

About You: You are driven by your passion to be a business partner, creating and implementing strategies that have a direct impact on organizational/business success. You are part detective and creative entrepreneur, able to find efficiencies, diagnose issues, and create solutions to thorny, complex recruitment challenges. You build trust quickly, enjoy working across multiple functions, and can influence organizational change initiatives. You have years of experience in talent acquisition, a strategic thinker who likes to roll up your sleeves. The opportunity to lead meaningful talent reviews and create succession plans is a top priority of yours.

You Need: Five plus years’ experience leading talent acquisition functions and an extensive background in recruitment. You have transformed the recruitment function within organizations, helped to shape a successful employer brand strategy, and have a strong track record of building highly productive teams. You have used your analytical skills to inform workforce strategies and planning. You not only have an affection for animals, the idea of working at the intersection of social change and veterinary medicine could be your dream job.

We offer: We take pride in our generous benefits package, which includes PTO and holiday pay, medical, dental & vision insurance with low cost employee contributions, life insurance, long-term disability, tax-deferred retirement plan with matching funds, pre-tax commute expense deductions, free on-site parking, pet bereavement, and generous employee discounts. The starting salary for this position will depend on the depth and breadth of experience.

Picture yourself wearing a logo that represents over 150 years of innovation and going home at the end of the day knowing you made a difference.
