Description
Job Purpose:
Under the general direction of the Director of CGA’s Educational Foundation, the Manager is responsible for advancing the mission of the CGA Educational Foundation (CGAEF) through promotion and facilitation of the College Scholarship and Tuition Reimbursement programs. Additionally, the Manager will administer grocery training program(s) and oversee annual donation campaigns. The Manager will support the Director in developing and executing events and programs, and ensuring fundraising objectives are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage CGAEF’s College Scholarship Program including management of program operations and committee meetings, marketing the program to existing and new audiences, and meeting budgetary requirements.
- Facilitate CGAEF’s Tuition Reimbursement Program including program operations, member company engagement, and marketing efforts.
- Assist CGA members in utilizing CGAEF’s grocery training programs.
- Manage CGAEF’s annual donation program including soliciting, recording, and reporting donations received through various annual campaigns. Enhance existing programs and establish innovative channels for giving.
- Develop comprehensive, turnkey physical and digital marketing resources to promote CGAEF’s programs.
- Drive strategic growth for the Foundation by creating and launching a new educational grant program, developing partnerships with educational institutions, and reinventing marketing tactics to expand reach to CGA members.
- Assist CGAEF Director in the execution of multiple, annual CGAEF events and programs including processing reservations and sponsorships, preparing support materials, and actively engaging in meetings and events to ensure success.
- Participate in sales team efforts to meet budget goals for Association and Foundation events and programs.
- Collaborate with Director to execute CGAEF Strategic plan objectives and tactics.
- Coordinate with CGAEF Director to achieve department budget goals.
- Support Association members through meetings, email and phone communication, and member site visits.
- Provide organizational support for Board meetings including materials preparation and minutes taking.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, working in a trade association, educational environment, or non-profit fundraising.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, business administration, nonprofit management, communications).
- Proven ability to independently manage diverse workloads in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong organization skills with a focus on detail and quality.
- Skills in analyzing, organizing, and enhancing existing procedures and workflows.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required. Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Canva, and/or a database management platform is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to answer questions, present solutions, and suggest efficiencies.
- Ability to establish project timelines, set priorities, and ensure on-time execution.
- Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed in an office environment in downtown Sacramento with a flexible work from home option following completion of 90-day performance evaluation. Occasional overnight travel to CGA/CGAEF events throughout California (5%).
The California Grocers Association Educational Foundation provides medical, dental, and vison insurance for employees and eligible dependents, and life insurance and long-term disability insurance for the employee. The position is full-time, exempt. The salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 annually commensurate with experience and credentials.
