The Los Angeles Conservation Corps (LACC) invites visionary, mission-driven leaders to apply for the position of Chief Executive Officer. This is a defining opportunity to lead one of Los Angeles’ most respected and impactful nonprofits as it enters its next chapter of growth and visibility.
For nearly four decades, LACC has been transforming lives and landscapes—empowering young adults from under-resourced communities through paid job training, environmental service, and education. Each year, hundreds of Corpsmembers gain hands-on experience restoring parks and trails, planting trees, leading recycling programs, and building climate-resilient infrastructure while earning their high-school diplomas or industry certifications. The Corps’ dual mission of youth development and environmental stewardship has made it a national model for urban conservation.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will serve as LACC’s chief ambassador and strategic leader. They will strengthen partnerships across public, private, and philanthropic sectors; elevate the Corps’ public profile; and ensure its continued excellence in youth programming, conservation, and workforce development. Key priorities include advancing equity, expanding funding streams, investing in staff and culture, and positioning the Corps as a thought leader in climate resilience and environmental justice.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is an experienced executive who combines strategic acumen with empathy, authenticity, and an unwavering belief in young people’s potential. Candidates should bring at least ten years of progressive leadership experience, proven fundraising success, and deep familiarity with youth development, workforce development, conservation, or related sectors.
